The collection combines primarily classical forms with detailed drawing or carving as decoration, or a play of different glazes, referencing indigenous flora such as proteas, clivia, agapanthus, and ferns. The works are predominantly functional, serving as both practical vessels and beautiful decorative objects.

The collection includes a range of medium- to large-sized vessels, such as fruit bowls, serving platters, vases, and pots.

2. Colour and Glazes
Signature features of this collection include a vibrant low-fire green glaze over some carving, a few brightly coloured pots with protea drawings, and examples of layered glazes.

Christiaan employs techniques such as carving (sgraffito), delicate clay inlay (Mishima), and subtle applied relief to create variation. The work encourages a connection with the natural world through usable, handcrafted objects.
