Video Project Room #2
Gianluca Iadema
Gianluca Iadema’s un_i[n]verso is the ash settled at our feet as we watch the world burn from the disillusioned safe distance of shore. Warmed by its flame, we are comforted, shipwrecked spectators, bearing witness to total and irreconcilable collapse that both repels and compels, offering neither resolution nor escape, only the fragile, persistent act of overseeing as the world remakes and unravels itself in an endless cycle of ruin.
The audiovisual sculptural pieces, accompanied by ten counterpart prints, envelop the viewer in a mutable, phenomenological field where light and shadow, sound and silence, material and absence endlessly fold into one another. un_i[n]verso is a fragmented contemplation on the human condition and its contradiction, safety versus the attraction to risk, detachment versus involvement, shipwrecked or spectator. Invaded by sound, light, dark, and matter, we are made to ask what is contained, what is complicit, and where to find ourselves within this unstable terrain.
The second iteration of Stefano Pisci’s Video Project Room series, Video Project Room #2 — curated by Pisci and Milla Peerutin and hosted by Berman Contemporary - foregrounds the audiovisual sculptural and print work series, un_i[n]verso, by Italian-born, Bern-based artist, Gianluca Iadema.
The exhibition is on display from 28 June to 28 July 2025.
