Stephen Symons’ extraordinary digital portraits bring history into the present, reimagining iconic figures through his distinctive, richly layered visual language.

Built from more than a hundred digital layers, his works combine the grandeur of classical portraiture with a striking contemporary aesthetic.

For this new body of work, Symons turns his focus towards Africa, exploring remarkable figures and stories connected to the continent.

The result is a powerful dialogue between history, identity and contemporary African culture.
