The annual midwinter Solstice exhibition at The Cape Gallery, this year, is an extension to Earth Song and include those artists who entertain and kindle the imagination.

To personify the earth, to claim that the earth sings, or, as the American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson suggests ‘the earth laughs in flowers’ is to reflect the deep connection that exists between earth and humanity. Painting or drawing is a natural demonstration of that connection; an activity by which the artist may identify with what he sees and feels or take an objective perspective.
