About this programme item

Visitors are invited to pause, reflect, and engage in thoughtful conversations about the future of South African wildlife.

What if animals and plants were connected to a non-material realm of influence—a morphogenetic field—and could respond to a morphic resonance that enables transformation? This concept suggests the existence of creative, organizing principles underlying life itself, offering an alternative to the idea that evolution is driven solely by random mutation and natural selection.

Human perception is not limited to the physical senses; it is also shaped by memory, experience, inherited knowledge, and culture.

The artists featured in Wildlife 25 have each responded to the natural world in a deeply personal and unique way. Some have remained attuned to immediate sensations, closely observing and depicting their subjects with precision. Others have embedded their subjects within carefully composed designs or framed them in symbolic narratives rich with meaning. Each artwork becomes a singular expression of form, rhythm, and pattern—an intelligent visual language that functions as a kind of ‘morphic field,’ transmitting elusive thoughts, emotions, and imagery from one individual to another.

Beyond the visible lies a subtle, intelligent ‘morphic resonance’—a reflection of the zeitgeist, capturing the spirit of the time and place in which each work was created.

The group of artists exhibiting in Wildlife 25 presents a creative and organized response to the natural world. Viewers are encouraged to pause, look closely, and engage with the deeper layers of meaning present in each piece.
