Hosted by the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, the exhibition opens from 6pm – 8pm, with a walkabout at 6pm, at Desmond Tutu House (11 Buitenkant Street, Cape Town).

For those drawn to the stories history has overlooked, this exhibition brings research on sailors, enslaved people, and Cape Town's historical record into conversation with contemporary artworks by Vas Putter, Liam van der Heever, Lindisipho Gulwa, Nosihle Bhengu, and Ra I.

Each artist brings a distinct visual language that challenges institutional erasure, processes intergenerational trauma, and explores the intersection of cultural heritage and spatial politics. While some people were counted, others were carried across the ocean, their lives left unrecorded or reduced to dates of sale and the names of enslavers.
