ONE-NIGHT STANDS IN WHITE MUSTANGS poetry reading by Amogelang Maepa
About this programme item
The debut solo exhibition by Amogelang Maepa opens in Johannesburg following its Cape Town showing.
To mark the opening on 4 June, Maepa will perform a live poetry reading within the exhibition at 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
In ONE-NIGHT STANDS IN WHITE MUSTANGS, Maepa works between poetry and ceramic form to explore desire not as an event, but as a system, repeating, circulating, and leaving residue. The exhibition moves through the aftermath of intimacy, where forms hold what cannot be resolved: longing, exposure, and the persistence of feeling.
“A sensual, emotionally charged exploration of fleeting desire and lasting residue.”
