About this programme item
The illusion of ease exhibition attends to those invisible processes. It foregrounds the corporal cost of aesthetic production from the model's contorted body to the Sapeur who redirects limited resources toward self-fashioning as an act of dignity and resistance. It also invokes the female body in labor, where creation is inseparable from pain, vulnerability, and endurance.
