About this programme item

Artist and researcher Hannelie Coetzee presents work created during her time in the Himalayas in May this year. Continuing her exploration into the queer nature of the natural world, Coetzee brings us dynamic scenes—monkeys running with hyenas, their forms nearly merging. Her fast-paced drawing process captures raw movement and offers a fresh perspective on animal life. In Coetzee’s view, animals exist beyond societal norms—by nature, they are queer.
