About this programme item

Ros Koch, a British-born artist who came to South Africa in 1998, describes herself as an immigrant, adventurer, and mother of three children — and these experiences inform her work. Koch's artwork reflects her diverse interests and passions, as well as her journey through life. Using various mediums, her work explores themes of home, identity, change, and adaptation — and underpinning them all, a sense of belonging. She is influenced by the nature that surrounds her, and her style ranges from realism to impressionistic. She enjoys giving her audience the chance to weave their own story into the narrative behind her drawings and paintings. Since becoming a professional artist, Koch has presented five solo shows, participated in multiple group exhibitions, and her work hangs in both corporate and private collections around the world. She lives and works in the shadow of Stellenbosch Mountain, with her husband, children, and other animals.

Featuring a pop-up by Van Hunks.

Pop in for bubbles, wine, the best espresso martinis in town — and a chat with the artist.
